Emily Mayhew is a Research Associate at Imperial College London and an Examiner at the Imperial College School of Medicine. She holds a degree in history, a Master's in the history of science, technology and medicine, and a PhD in military history.
She is also a consultant and lecturer for various museums, including Wellcome Collection, the Imperial War Museum and the Royal College of Surgeons. Her first book, 'The Reconstruction of Warriors', was published in 2004. She adapted her research into the BBC Four documentary 'The Guinea Pig Club', winner of the Best History Programme prize at the Royal Television Society Awards in the same year.
