After the loss of their first child to a genetic disorder, the Klaessons embark on producing a designer baby with the help of the sinister geneticist Dr Leo Dettore. The results are chillingly terrifying.
Grief stricken after the death of their four-year-old son, from a rare genetic disorder, John and Naomi Klaesson are desperate to have another child. Their problem is they are the carriers of the gene responsible for their son’s death and any new, conventionally conceived child would have a high likelihood of suffering the same fate.
Finding out about a geneticist, Doctor Leo Dettore, whom they are told, can help, they decide to investigate further. Filled with hope, they approach the doctor in his clinic, which is where their nightmare begins.
Alarm bells should have rung when they heard how far Dr. Dettore was prepared to go in the manipulation of the embryo’s genes. Eye colour, hair, sex and even sporting prowess, were all on the list of available attributes. Has the doctor got his own agenda and is he using the Klaessons for his own ends?
Caught up in the manipulative doctor’s web and with Naomi already pregnant, it’s too late to turn back - but something is already badly wrong.
