James Runcie is a film-maker and author, and the Head of Literature and Spoken Word at the Southbank Centre.
James has written, directed and produced films and documentaries for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, working extensively with writers such as J G Ballard, Hilary Mantel, J K Rowling and even our Chair of Judges, Andrew Motion. He has been nominated for several BAFTAs and Royal Television Society Awards. He is also the author of six novels, including the first two volumes of the Grantchester Mysteries detective series.
