Tessa Hadley is a writer and a professor at Bath Spa University, where she teaches literature and creative writing.
Her special interests include Jane Austen, Henry James, Jean Rhys and Elizabeth Bowen. She has written six novels (including ‘Clever Girl’ and ‘The Past’) and two collections of short stories. She publishes stories regularly in the ‘New Yorker’ and writes reviews for the ‘London Review of Books’ and the ‘Guardian’.
