The Wellcome Book Prize 2016 is now open for submissions

The submission process for the Wellcome Book Prize 2016 is now open.
UK-based publishers or imprint can submit up to 3 books published between 1 January 2015 and 31 December 2015. The deadline for submission is 4 September 2015.
Worth £30,000, the prize celebrates the best new books that engage with some aspect of medicine, health or illness, showcasing the breadth and depth of our encounters with medicine through exceptional works of fiction and non-fiction. 'The Iceberg' by Marion Coutts won this year’s award, with a judging panel chaired by the acclaimed writer, Bill Bryson. To be eligible for entry, a book should have a central theme that engages with some aspect of medicine, health or illness and can include biography, crime, current affairs, history, popular science, romance and science fiction.
The judges for the 2016 Prize will be announced in the autumn. The Wellcome Book Prize will shortlist six books in February 2016 and the winner will be announced in April 2016.
