About the speakers:

Ottessa Moshfegh (pictured) is one of America’s major young writers. My Year of Rest and Relaxation is a shocking, hilarious and tender novel about a young woman’s experiment in narcotic hibernation, aided and abetted by one of the worst psychiatrists in the annals of literature.

Sarah Krasnostein charts the extraordinary life of Sandra Pankhurst, bringing order and care to the living and the dead, in her role as The Trauma Cleaner. A compelling story of a fascinating life, and an affirmation that, as isolated as we may feel, we are all in this together. in death, decay and disaster.

Sandeep Jauhar is a cardiologist, best-selling author and New York Times columnist. In Heart: A History we discover the pioneers who risked their careers – and their patient’s lives – to better understand the heart.

In his 20s Arnold Thomas Fanning was overtaken by mania and delusions. Mind on Fire is a beautifully written and devastatingly intense account of madness – and recovery.

Will Eaves's novel Murmur is based around the dreamworld of Alan Turing. “Turing was a philosopher, psychologist, mathematician and biologist – Eaves’s narrative experiments honour that legacy” The Guardian
